Alain was also a Government Commissioner to the French Competition Authority which he advised on the cases involving health industries and services. He has been a member of the Economic Committee for Health Products, the body in charge of pricing and setting the market access conditions for drugs and medical devices.
Previously he had been a senior official within the French Ministry for Health. He also had been a non-executive member of the board of the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines (ANSM).
